ImageMakers
Place a camera in a child's hand and be amazed at what develops. The walk to school, a basketball game, a pool of water- all are transformed by the camera lens. Imagemakers, Boys & Girls Clubs of America's National Photography Program and Contest, was created to provide Club members the opportunity to express themselves creatively, build confidence and learn fun new skills. National Fine Arts Contest Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s year-round fine arts program encourages artistic expression through classes, special events and fine art exhibits. The program culminates in the National Fine Arts Exhibit, which premieres at Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s National Conference, then tours the United States for one year. Digital Arts Combining technology and art attracts members to tech centers, exposing them to creative uses for technology, including potential career interests. Programs also prepare members to enter the Digital Arts Festivals that run from September through May. Web-Based Programs Lead members through three levels of animated lessons and instructor-led group activities, gaining skills in Microsoft software such as Publisher, FrontPage, Movie Maker and Digital Image Pro. Online lessons are offered in English and Spanish and are suitable for ages 6-18. |
