Mark Hanke selected after nationwide search for new leader
Corporate Board President Mike Neill today announced that the Boys & Girls Club of the East Valley has hired Mark Hanke as the new Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Hanke will be replacing Ramon Elias who is retiring on June 30th after 43 years of dedicated service with the Boys & Girls Club organization.
Mr. Hanke comes to the Boys & Girls Club of the East Valley after serving as the CEO of the YMCA of South Alabama since 2007. Prior to that position, Mr. Hanke had worked for the YMCA in a variety of positions around the country including the Executive Director of the Chandler YMCA from 2002-2003.
Corporate Board President Mike Neill said that, “Selecting a replacement for Ramon Elias, whose impact on the growth of the Boys & Girls Clubs of the East Valley has been extraordinary, was a long and arduous process. We are confident that the Board’s choice in Mark will be integral in moving the organization forward and meeting the challenges ahead.”
When asked his thoughts about joining the organization Mr. Hanke said, "I'm excited and honored to be joining the Boys and Girls Clubs of the East Valley’s team of dedicated staff, volunteers, supporters and sponsors in all of the Clubs and communities where our youth are supported, mentored and cared for. I look forward to working with everyone in helping and engaging kids to thrive, succeed and reach their full potential."
Mr. Hanke and his family will be relocating to Arizona immediately and he will begin work with the organization on June 22nd.
