Boys & Girls Clubs of the East Valley’s Camp Clubzona Offers Safe Summer Fun and Adventures at Bargain Prices

Tempe, Ariz. – April 26, 2012 – Summer is almost here in the Valley and it’s time for parents to think about how their children will be spending their free time when school is out.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of the East Valley offers a fun, safe place where children and teens can form friendships, develop new skills and create memories that will last a lifetime.
Camp Clubzona is an exceptional Summer Day Camp that will be offered in ten Club locations in the communities of Apache Junction, Chandler, the Gila River Indian Community, Gilbert, Guadalupe, Mesa, Queen Creek and Tempe. The camps start on May 29 at seven of the Clubs, on May 31 at our Gila River Branch – Komatke and Gila River Branch – Sacaton and on June 6 at our Compadre Branch – Chandler.

Eight of the Clubs’ Summer Day Camps will last for ten weeks while Chandler and Queen Creek’s Camp Clubzona programs will be held for seven weeks to coincide with their schools’ summer vacations.

Camp Clubzona costs $100 or less per week with prices varying slightly according to the particular site, a great bargain that includes the cost of lunch, snacks and even breakfast at most of the Clubs. Youths ages 13 and older only need to pay a $25 Club membership fee to participate in Summer Day Camp.

Club members ages 5 to 18 can stay active in the air-conditioned comfort of our full-size gymnasiums playing QuickStart Tennis and other sports. They can tap into their creative sides while painting, drawing and taking photos or singing a song on stage in the Clubs’ arts programs.

The Clubs’ state-of-the-art Discovery and Computer Labs give kids a chance to create video games and movies, building valuable technological skills.

Club children and teens can explore fun, popular local amusement centers, movies, museums and swimming pools during exciting field trips.

The Clubs’ Teen Centers give members ages 13 and older an opportunity to bond with their peers in parties, engage in empowering civic and leadership projects and participate in other activities tailored to their age group.

During Camp Clubzona most of the Clubs open at 7 a.m. and close at 6 p.m. The Teen Centers are open until 9 p.m. for Club members ages 13 and older.
