Food & Drink Tasting Event Hopes to Raise $185,000 for East Valley Youth

TEMPE, Ariz- March 6, 2009 – The Boys & Girls Clubs of the East Valley is gearing up for the 24th Annual M&I Bank Bon Vivant ~ A Celebration of Fine Food & Drink.  The event will be held Sunday, March 29, 2009 at Rawhide from 4:30pm to 10:00pm. “Every year more than 3,500 people come together to have a good time and enjoy some of the Valley’s best restaurants all while supporting the Boys & Girls Clubs of the East Valley,” said president/CEO Ramon Elias.  “We know times are tough, but we need our community’s support more than ever and Bon Vivant is a great way to help the Clubs and have a fun time doing it”  

M&I Bank Bon Vivant is presented by Michael A. Pollack Real Estate Investments, US Airways, Toyota Financial and Wild Horse Pass Development Authority.  Other major sponsors of the event include The Chandler Compadres, Rawhide, Gila River Casinos, Mouse Graphics and O’Neil Printing.  More than 300 varieties of wine, beer, liquor and non- alcoholic beverages are provided by Bashas’, Food City and AJ’s.  A few dozen restaurants will sample some of their most popular dishes.  Restaurants and caterers participating include AJ's Fine Foods, Arrivederci Trattoria, Baci Italian Bistro, Bashas', Bill Johnson's Big Apple, Brownie Connection, BJ's Restaurant and Brewery, Dunkin' Donuts, The Cake Café, Cork Restaurant, El Rico's Mexican Restaurant, Food City, Harry & David, That Italian Place on 40th, Joe's Farm Grill, The Landmark Restaurant, Los Gringos Locos, The Melting Pot, Papa Razzinis, RA Sushi Bar Restaurant, Rawhide Steakhouse, Salerno's, Someburro's Mexican Food, Southgate Grill, Whirlwind Golf Club Sivlik Grill and Whiskey Ranch BBQ  A full list of restaurants can be found at www.clubzona.org

The Boys & Girls Clubs of the East Valley is still accepting Bon Vivant sponsors, restaurants and silent auction items. About the Boys & Girls Clubs of the East Valley
The Boys & Girls Clubs of the East Valley (www.clubzona.org) serves more than 30,000 children and teens annually, and continues to grow to meet the needs of today’s youth, providing a positive place for all kids and teens. Serving members in Apache Junction, Chandler, Gilbert, Guadalupe, Mesa, Tempe, Queen Creek, and the Gila River Indian Community, programs are offered after school and during the summer and provide youth and teens, ages 6 – 18, with fun and educational activities, supervised by professional staff.  The organization also runs Mesa Arts Academy, a K-8 charter school.  The Boys & Girls Clubs of the East Valley’s annual membership fee is only $20 dollars a year and financial assistance is available.  No child is ever turned away if they are unable to pay the fee.
