Boys & Girls Clubs of the East Valley (BGCEV) is pleased to have been selected to receive a $10,000 donation from Cox Charities. This gift is part of nearly $543,000 in donations given by the organization to Arizona nonprofits this year. BGCEV is one of several local nonprofit organizations receiving funding this year that comes from the generous contributions of Cox Communications employees.

Hank Aaron Scholarships Open
The Hank Aaron Chasing the Dream Foundation recognizes talented Club members with annual scholarships of up to $3,500 to help them develop their skill or talent in categories such as sports, photography, dance and music. Boys & Girls Club members ages 10-16 are eligible. The Foundation is also interested in youth who excel in science, technology, engineering and math. Apply now.

Planet Fitness Apache Junction to host open house after reopening Jul 30th, 2018 · by Apache Junction Independent · Planet Fitness Apache Junction is reopening its doors after upgrading the facility and outfitting the club with new equipment and will celebrate the recent renovation Wednesday, Aug. 1 with a $2,500 donation to Boys and Girls Club of East Valley.
The donation is part of the company’s national philanthropic initiative, The Judgement Free Generation, which aims to spread kindness and end bullying faced by youth today, according to a press release. Representatives from Boys and Girls Clubs of East Valley attended the grand opening event, along with staff from the Apache Junction Chamber of Commerce and city government officials. Members have access to new cardio equipment including rowers and steppers. And, after their workout, they can freshen up in the locker rooms, complete with granite bench tops, faucets in the restrooms and tiles in the showers.
July 28, 2018: Mesa, AZ – Club members of Boys & Girls Clubs of the East Valley spent nearly $60,000 on a shopping spree hosted at several Kohl’s store locations. Approximately 400 children from Boys & Girls Clubs of the East Valley participated in the annual Back to School Shopping Spree, Saturday, July 28. The Ahwatukee location hosted about 80 children who were able to purchase clothes, shoes and other essentials for the upcoming school year.
Tanika, a parent of a Club kid said, “It means a lot because I am a single parent of two kids, so to be able to get help is amazing. It helps our family because we have been going through some financial hardships in the last few months so this has been such a blessing.”
“It was really fun, all the people were really helpful and you could tell they wanted to be there. It’s a nice experience, especially for the little one,” said Latiana, a Ladmo club member.
