January 17, 2019: Mesa, AZ – Boys & Girls Clubs of the East Valley (BGCEV) and Metro Phoenix (BGCMP) are offering government employees affected by the shutdown to free after school care for their children during the government shut down. All 24 branches are allowing children of government workers with proof of employment and a paid yearly membership the opportunity to receive free after school care without the weekly/monthly cost. Fees will be waived through the end of January and for the entire month of February.
Each club has its own unique programs, field trips, sports leagues and activities designed and conducted by our professionally trained staff. The East Valley and Metro Phoenix’s young people deserve nothing less than our constant focus on their safety and our firm commitment to protect every child who is entrusted to our care. Providing a great Club Experience means we meet youth where they are, and understand what they need to grow and succeed.
Marcia Mintz, CEO of Metro Phoenix Clubs and Connie Perez, CEO of East Valley Clubs, jointly state, “It is our pleasure to help the families in our community effected by the government shut down. We want the community to know Boys & Girls Clubs are committed to assisting in times of need. Parents should be confident their children have a safe place to go without worrying about cost.”
