Staff Elyssa Bustamante
In the summer of 2007, as an AmeriCorps Member through Luz Social Services, Elyssa taught substance abuse prevention workshops for teens and adults and began coaching basketball and flag football at the Boys and Girls Club of the East Valley, Ladmo Branch. In 2008 Elyssa was an Activities Coordinator for the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Scottsdale the Virginia G. Piper Branch. She oversaw and implemented recreational, sports, and educational activities programs for youth ages 6-13. She received her Bachelor of Arts in English Literature at Arizona State University. Through this she completed courses in American & British literature, cultural history and Spanish.
On September 16, 2010 she became the Teen Director at the Boys and Girls Club of the East Valley, Grant Woods Branch. She has enjoyed getting to know and working with the teens in the Mesa community.
